About Politalking.US

This site aims to promote civil discussion and informed understanding of political issues in the United States. When possible, we aim to help people find common ground, and when not, to encourage understanding of those who hold different views. Content here is written to inform, not to persuade toward any side. Every post separates checkable fact from opinion, and both “sides” of a contested issue get comparable scrutiny.

PoliTalking.us is part of the Worldbridges network, a long-running project built around global conversation, multi-perspective education, and ethical commerce. The network was founded by Jeff Lebow, an educator, longtime expat, and the person who has been buying “bridges” domains since the days of Netscape and AltaVista. A few bridges have been active at various points, but many have remained dormant for years. This is one of the sites in active development.

US politics is often covered as if there are only two sides to understand and pick from; we try to present the range of views actually in play, including where they overlap, and to make the reasoning behind a position legible even to someone who disagrees with it. That’s meant for Americans across the political spectrum, and for international readers trying to make sense of US politics without picking up a side along the way. A separate site, PoliTalking.com, covers global politics. On both sites, our approach to balance and sourcing is designed to serve these goals.

To whatever extent business is conducted here, we want to promote fair trade, decent treatment of human workers, and the fairest possible compensation to those who produce content and keep things running. On the editorial side, that same commitment to fairness means sourcing statistics, flagging contradictions instead of quietly resolving them, and stating plainly when something can’t be verified rather than guessing.

PoliTalking content currently comes in four formats: News (what happened, background, and what different sides are saying, with fact-checks embedded per claim), Election Briefings (overviews of upcoming political campaigns), Discussions (breakdowns of political debates and conversations, with claims from each side fact-checked in turn), and Learn (educational pieces aimed at building a working understanding of how US government and policy actually function). Much of the content is AI-assisted and human edited. A positive, trustworthy reader experience is prioritized over chasing clicks.
